It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Melissa A. Hawkins of Port Huron Township, Michigan, born in Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on September 3, 2023, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Eli Peresta and Mary Peresta; her mother-in-law Sharon Hawkins; and her siblings, Jeff Peresta, John Peresta, Alex Peresta and Marsha Peresta.

She is survived by : her husband Clifford Hawkins; her son Zachary; her daughter-in-law Alyssa Hawkins; her daughter Shelby Hawkins; her granddaughters, Sage and Ivy; her sister-in-law Anne Russo Jr.; her brother Tom; her sister-in-law Kesha Russo; her father-in-law Robert Hawkins; and her siblings-in-law, Laura Hawkins, Rob, Ai Hawkins, Amy, Tom Richmond and Christine Peresta. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial contributions can be made to her granddaughter's college fund.
