It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty June Young (Port Hope, Michigan), born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on July 25, 2019, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Carruthers and Viola Carruthers (LaValley); her sister Mary Laramie (Billie); her sister-in-law Marilyn Carruthers; and her son-in-law Edward Jiles.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest P. Young; her pets, Lily, Lucy, Bailey, Rocky and Olivia; her daughters, Carol Jiles, Sandra Hilkert and Nancy Wasilowski (Stanley); her grandchildren, Mary Werbinski (Daniel), Martin Jiles (Holly), Jeffrey Jiles, Chuck Hilkert (Lori), Holly Smith-Cheeks (Andre), Christopher Smith (Tracie) and Brandon Smith (Tiffany); her great grandchildren, Melissa, Edward, Michelle, Sarah, Marty, Ethan, Jessica, Thana, Jon, Heather, Kenneth, Ashley, Gavin, Brandon Jr., Bradley and Brayden; her great great grandchildren, Violet Rose, Troy and Tucker; and her brother John Carruthers. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
