He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ziel Sr. and Beatrice Ziel (Albrecht); his wife Jeanette Finkel; and his son Chad. He is survived by: his children, Mark Ziel of Port Austin, Michelle Gayari (Steve) of Pigeon, Crystal Ziel of Albany and Suna Ziel; his parent-in-law Caro; his grandchildren, Hanna Ziel, Shawn Gayari and Kyle Gayari; and his siblings, Dennis Ziel of Sarasota, FL, Dale Ziel of Tenakee Springs, AL and Susan Hardisty (Flint).

Any donations in his memory are requested to be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
