He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Herron and Edna Herron (Snyder); his wife Janice Herron (Gierman); his brother Frank Herron; his brother-in-law Jim Gierman; and his son-in-law Bryan Smith.

He is survived by: his children, William Herron (Ann), Juanna Parker (Bradley), Jana Smith-Gierke (Thomas) and Launce Herron (Andrea); his grandchildren, Edward Herron, Erica Irvine (Cody), Janson Parker (Taylor), Jourdan Parker (Jennifer), Ethan Herron, Keegan Herron, Landan Herron and Zane Smith (Chelsea); his great grandchildren, Nova Herron, Everlee Herron, Annabelle Irvine, Ellie Mae Irvine, Maxwell Parker and Meadow Parker; his siblings-in-law, Betty Herron, Jack Gierman (Nancy) and Janice Gierman; his nieces and nephews, Betsy Herron, Lori Herman (John), Ann Harding (Mike), Jason Gierman, Joe Gierman (Colleen), Julie Luginbill (Jim), Cory Gierman and Amy Baldwin (Chad); his close friends, Patricia Chard, Reverend Fred Becknell (Glenice), Gary Hood (Karen), Dean Rockwell (Barb), Wendell Sheir, Paul McKee, Mary Lou Prowse and Dave Cruz (Marlene); and his pet Cheddar.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lamotte Missionary Church (6445 Adams Rd, Marlette, MI 48453).
