With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Maria Ortez of Pontiac, Michigan, born in Cleveland, New Mexico, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Maria left this world on January 10, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Abenencio Bernal and Saferina Bernal (Sanchez); her husband Robert; and her children, Teresa of Pontiac, Cisco (Kathy) of Romulus, Lorenzo (Amy) of Orion Twp, Goretta Contreras of Pontiac, Ignacio (Bettina) of Waterford, Guadalupe (Debbie) and Miguelito. She is also survived by 4 sisters, 2 brothers, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac Chapel (46 Williams St, Pontiac, MI 48341). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Damien of Molokai Parish - St. Vincent (46408 Woodward Ave, Pontiac, MI 48342).
