He is survived by: his wife Mattie; his son John Mungin; his stepchildren, Charlotte Edwards, Robert Norton, Gwendolyn Norton, Sally Baugh, Sharon Brown (Bishop Akinyemi), Carolyn Norton, Derrick Norton and Lisa Norton; and his close friend Nellie James. He is also survived by grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
