He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Darrow and Johannes Maldegen (John). He is survived by: his wife Helene Bogden Rogula (Lee); and his daughters, Kathlyn Maldegen, Jann Lardo (Horacio), Susan Schnee (Daniel), Joellyn Gurczynski (Peter), Robyn Youngjohn (Mark) and Kristin Derenthal.
