Kurt M. Straub Obituary
Age 61, of Plymouth, passed away suddenly on February 17, 2022. He was born on August 11, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Paul and Vivian (Murphy) Straub. Kurt was united in marriage to his soulmate Diane M. Boldea on May 12, 1984; they spent 37 loving years together.
Kurt attended St. Michael's grade school and graduated from Catholic Central High School; Class of 1978. Following graduation, he attended Lawrence Technical University where he earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. He had a brilliant engineering mind and was a very analytical thinker. Those skill sets helped him excel in his career as an Electrical Engineer with Chrysler for 33 years.
After retiring in 2017, Kurt had more time to spend on home projects, including finishing his large walkout basement. A passionate do it yourselfer, there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or a problem he couldn't solve. Kurt was an automobile enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf. A truly nice person, he was friendly, empathetic, and social. Kurt was devoted to his family and a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He adored being a Papa and was often called "Papa Pillow" because his grandchildren loved to nap on him.
Kurt is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Straub; his children Justin Straub, Erica (John) Pavlik, Jeffrey Straub, and Jonathan Straub; his grandchildren, Charlotte "Charlie" and Jackson "Jax"; his sisters, Kathleen (William Hunt) Engstrom and Maureen (Richard) Kordesh; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Eric Straub and Matthew Straub.
A private family. Celebration of Life will be held.
