He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm McBain and Velma McBain; his wives, Alice McBain (Trygstad) and Stephanie Drasin; his siblings, Richard McBain, Donald McBain, Patricia Fullagar and Barbara Swinehart; and his daughter Dawn Susan Foster.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Shonts (Paul), James McBain Jr. (Kim), Carol Smith (Randall), Russell McBain (Roseann), Gail McBain, Jane Bully (Ken) and Amy McBain; his sisters, Jeanne Scolfield (Glen) and Katie McBain; his close friend Jennie; and his stepdaughters, Lori Baker (Brian), Shelley Luth and Elizabeth Moore. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
