He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Saunders and Myrtle Saunders; his sister Jeanette Butler; his niece Kathy Saunders; and his nephews, Dan Saunders and Dennis Butler.

He is survived by: his brother Jack; his sons, Travis (Carol) and Todd (Marla); his wife Carol Saunders; and his grandsons, Troy (Erika) and Jake (Jordan).
