“MY OLD FRIEND PATRICK COOK. PATRICK WAS A STUDENT IN MY CLASSROOM FOR MANY YEARS AT BAY ARENAC ISD. HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE KIDS IN THE CLASS; ALWAYS A SMILE AND A WILLINGNESS TO TRY ANY OF THE ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY DEVICES WE TRIED WITH HIM TO HELP HIM COMMUNICATE. IT WAS FRUSTRATING FOR HIM AND MY CLASSROOM AIDES AS WE KNEW HE HAD MORE TO SAY THAN HE COULD GET OUT. HIS LOVING MOM WAS ALWAYS INVOLVED IN OUR EFFORTS TO RELEASE HIS INNER SELF TO THE WORLD.”
