Olga M. Doerr Obituary
Olga M. Doerr, age 96, loving mother and a doting grandmother passed away on March 4, 2025, while in rehab at Bay Shores Nursing Center. She was born on December 15, 1928, in Gladwin, Michigan to the late George & Susie (Gilla) Gandy. She married the love of her life Dorus on September 1, 1951, at St. Bridget of Kildare of Midland. She was born and raised in Rhodes Michigan living her entire life, while still maintaining her own home. He predeceased her on June 2, 1997, together they celebrated 46 years of marriage. Olga was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church nine mile, then attended Assumption Catholic Church, recently she joined Holy Trinity Parish. She was a member of the Estey Moose Club. Olga enjoyed going to the casino, playing euchre and cooking most of all she enjoyed time with her family and her friends. She is survived by her two daughters Cheryl (Tim Irwin) DeHate and Debra Doerr, a grandson Brett DeHate. She was always proud to say that she was the youngest of 10 children. Her siblings predeceased her sisters Anna Novak, Irene Gersey, Mary Hillis, Julia Provost, Ethel Pipoply, brothers George, John, Andrew and Louis Gandy.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 12 noon from Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Matthew Federico presiding with burial in St. Mary's Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Monday, from 3 to 8 pm. On Tuesday, Olga will lie in state at the church from 11 am until time of mass.
