Marsha Ellen LaLonde, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on February 1, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Born in Warsaw, Indiana on December 11, 1941, to the late Floyd and Priscilla (Rolston) Dinius, Marsha's life was a testament to her intelligence, passion, and thoughtfulness. She left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her, especially her dog Sherry Lee.
Marsha's journey through life was one of commitment and service. After receiving her associate's degree at Chaffey College in California, she dedicated over two decades of her life to the Riverside Correctional Facility and then the Freeland Correctional Facility, where she worked as a Food Dietician. Her professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a desire to contribute to the well-being of others.
Her life was not only defined by her career but also by her love for her family and her engagement in her community. Marsha married Duwaine LaLonde on June 4, 2007, in Ohio, and they shared a loving marriage of 13 years until his passing in 2020. She is survived by her devoted children, Carolyn (favorite son in law Robert) Koth and Mark (Lisa) Klosowski; her adoring grandchildren, Brandon (Lacy) Koth and Austin (Carrie Ruse) Koth; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Addicyn Klopf and Palmer Koth. Marsha's memory will also be treasured by her siblings, Stanley, Randy, and Daniel Dinius, and John Stiegemier. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Duwaine, and her brother, Glen Stiegemier.
Marsha was a member of the American Legion and was an ardent supporter of the Republican Party. Her passion for politics and current events was evident in her lively discussions and her keen interest in following the news. Beyond her professional and civic engagements, Marsha had a variety of interests that enriched her life and brought joy to those around her. She cherished the simple pleasures of life, such as doing puzzles, crocheting, and reading. Marsha also delighted in the beauty of everyday moments, whether it was getting her nails painted, indulging in a bit of online shopping on Amazon, or cheering on her favorite NBA Basketball team.
Above all, Marsha loved her family deeply. Tutoring her grandson to become a Journeyman was a source of immense joy for her. The wisdom and care she imparted to her family will continue to guide them for years to come.
