Esther M. Doering Obituary
Esther Marie (Gillette) Doering, age 85, of Pinconning, MI passed away gracefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. She was born on September 23, 1939, one of six daughters born to the late Lawrence and Myrtle (Albach) Gillette. She was a 1957 graduate of Pinconning High School. In the past, Esther worked as a nursing assistant, neighborhood babysitter, foster care giver, and cashier.
Esther busied herself raising and encouraging her two children along with babysitting many neighborhood children. She enjoyed gardening and grew many beautiful flowers/plants, along with vegetables which she canned and put up for her family. She looked forward to monthly painting days making ceramic dolls with her sisters, putting together Gillette family reunions and fun around her pond. She was also happiest tending to her many dogs, cats, horses and donkeys.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Cliff (Eileen) Doering of Caro, their children Brandon (Ashlie). Doering with daughters Anniston and Lennon; and Aimee (Bryan). Scott with daughters Reagan and Willow all of Virginia. Esther's daughter, Connie (Doering) Bell, preceded her in 2022. Connie had three daughters, Atasha (Brian) Johnson and son Carson of Albright Shores, MI; Stephanie (Scott) Harper and sons Peyton and Camden Toth, Andrew Harper and daughter Mariah Harper of Midland, MI; Pamela Kource and daughters Lexis and Livia of Gladwin, MI. Many nieces, nephews and cousins added to her enjoyment in life.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all the loving, compassionate staff and friends from Satchell's Retirement Home in Caro that took such superb care of her over the past 2 years along with the wonderful medical attention from American Hospice Care.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 am at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home Pinconning Chapel, with Rev. Michele Hile presiding with burial in Mt. Forest Township Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Tuscola County Animal Shelter or Bay County Meals on Wheels.
