He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Shelby Ann and Sarah Ann; his wife Bonnie Mathis; his children, Renita Milburn (David), Lonnie Mathis, Jr. (Tina) and Michael Mathis (Laurie); his grandchildren, Justin (Tamara), Jessica (Todd), Anthony (Brittany), Kimberly (Robert), Michael and Emily; his great grandchildren, Carl, Braylon, Peyton, Ezekiel, Cheyenne, Aubrey, Noah, Miah and Owen; and his siblings, Shelby Mathis, Jr. (late Janine), Donna Dodd (Melvin), James "Larry" Mathis (Janice), Diana Crabtree (Michael), Vonnie Turvey (late Charles) and Judy Jarman (late Bruce). He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
