He was predeceased by: his parents, John Francis McGaffey and Lucille Ann McGaffey; his son John McGaffey, III; and his siblings, Donna Blevins, Michael McGaffey and Diane Blecco.
He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Canfield; his daughters, Laura McGaffey and Paula Lamkin (Dave); his grandchildren, Emma and Waylon Lamkin; his siblings, Bob McGaffey, Debbie Darga (Mike) and Gary McGaffey (Mary); and his sisters-in-law, Linda Meoak (Rich), Carol Canfield, Debbie Daniels (Bob) and Rosemary Leilieveld (Edwin).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's memory may be sent to the family to be distributed amongst various charities.
