He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Wurst and Aura Wurst (Hyde); his brother Robert; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Bergman and Sharon Wurst.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Wurst Hartle (Daniel) of North Carolina and Jennifer Wurst Alfrey (Danny) of Colorado; his grandchildren, Tiffany Alfrey of Oklahoma and Gregory Alfrey of Colorado; his daughter Alice Webster of Bay City; his stepchildren, Bryon Kanyak, Tony Kanyak and Kelly; and his siblings, James Wurst (Shirley), Leroy Wurst (Janice), Shirley Kasserman (Kenneth), Duane Wurst and Lorna Bergman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
