He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Esch and Maggie Esch (Wideman); his wife Freda; his son Chuck; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Eicher.
He is survived by: his sons, Denny Esch (Dee) and Bill Esch; his daughter-in-law Cathy Esch; his grandchildren, Gina Heilig (Mike), Chad Esch (Sharon), Jeremy Esch (Cindy), Holly Smith (Marc), Matt Esch (Lisa), Julie Sutkowi (Brandon) and Erik Esch (Genesis Hernandez); his great grandchildren, Nate Schulz (Haley), Ryan Schulz (Ashley), Morgan Meyer (Aaron), Nicholas Esch (Jordan), Conner Esch, Carter Esch, Nolan VanWormer, Hannah Miller, Dominic Smith, Justin Esch, Lauren Esch, Chastin Hale, Hannah Hale, Chloe Paulson, Gavin Esch and Logan Esch; his great great grandchildren, Troy Schulz, Haddie Schulz, Charlotte Schulz, Brody Schulz, Mason Schulz, Marshal Miller and Braylon Miller; his siblings, Dody Eicher of Highlands Ranch, CO, Dwight, Ofie Esch of Sacramento, CA, Marilyn and Jack Ludwig of Peoria, AZ; and his friends, Mary Dast, Lois Dast, Carolyn Morrison and Don Dietzel.
He never contracted Covid, and would tell you the secret to staying healthy is inhaling fumes from melted Vicks VapoRub.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul Methodist Church or the Pigeon Historical Society.
