He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Guardian and Antonia Guardian; and his granddaughter Ariana. He is survived by: his former wife Maria Avalos; his wife Mary; his children, Armando Jr. (Lorie) of Pigeon, John (Erica) of Bad Axe, Meliza Maurer (Wayne) of Elkton and Michelle (Jason) of Caseville; and his siblings, John (Aurora) of Hebbronville, Texas., Jose Luis of Hebbronville, Texas., Javier (Alma) of Hebbronville, Texas. and Yolanda Salazar (Albert) of Hebbronville, Texas.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
