John J. Heckman Obituary
The memory of John J. Heckman of Pewamo, Michigan, who passed away on September 22, 2024 at the age of 85, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Heckman and Dorothy Heckman (Schneider); his sisters, Marie Fernholz, Joanne Ladiski, Jean Schafer (Louis) and Theresa Ladiski (Ed); his parents-in-law, Wendell and Vera Peiffer; and his in-laws, Jack Peiffer (Lynette), Susie Barker, Mary Devers (John) and Pete Peiffer.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Heckman; his children, John Heckman, Jr. (Jackie), Robert Heckman, Donald Heckman and Joni Jegla-Seaman (Mike); his brothers, Jim Heckman (Ellen), Ed Heckman (Joan), Tom Heckman, Ken Heckman (Joyce) and Joe Heckman (Ruth); and his in-laws, Skip Peiffer (Roxie), Tom Peiffer (Doris), Joe Peiffer (Penny), Rod Peiffer (Vicki), Fred Peiffer (Chris), Cindy VanBeelen (Pete), Dean Peiffer, Dan Peiffer, Tony Peiffer, Kelly Peiffer and Terry Peiffer. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel (210 N Westphalia St, Westphalia, MI 48894). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (126 East St, Pewamo, MI 48873). A committal service was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (126 East St, Pewamo, MI 48873).
