She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Cowan and Marion Cowan (Krussell); and her sister Patty Puroll. She is survived by: her husband Tom Eppler of Petoskey; her sons, Jon Eppler (Kelly Watring) of Imlay City and Corey Hauswirth (Jon) of Bear Lake; her grandchildren, Scott, Alex Hauswirth and Savannah Eppler; her close friends, Shelby Trombley and Austin Eckert; her siblings, Alfred "John" Cowan (Kathy), Michael Cowan (Brenda) and Susan Jakeway (Mick); and her pet Kate.
