Joshua left this world on January 11, 2025 at the age of 34, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his great-grandparent Louise Lybarger; his grandparents, Arthol, Patricia VanAllen and Bessie Fabinski; and his uncle Walter VanAllen.
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his son Waylon VanAllen; his stepdaughter Sophia Gardner; his parents, Sue Peterson (Dave) of Alanson, MI and Paul VanAllen (Lori) of Afton, MI; his parents-in-law, Judie and Tom Bricker of Carp Lake, MI; and his siblings, Trish Eggers (Dave) of Levering, MI, Carrie Cranick of Pellston, MI, Tim Schlappi (Candice) of Boyne Falls and James Schlappi of Petoskey, MI. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Emmet County Fairgrounds Community Center (1129 Charlevoix Ave, Petoskey, MI 49770).
Memorial donations will be made to a trust fund set up for Josh's son, Waylon via a GoFundMe organized by Troy Temple.
