It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joshua A. Deaton of Petoskey, Michigan, born in Middletown, Ohio, who passed away on February 11, 2021, at the age of 31, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Kenneth and Wanda Deaton; and his great-grandparents, Eugene, Fay Miller, Julius, Sophia "Sonja" Kunz, Stanley, Evelyn McQuinn, Bradie, Nellie Tucker, George, Betty Sroufe, Carrol and Helen Brenneman.
He is survived by: his parents, James Deaton and Connie Sroufe (Kunz); his siblings, Katie Sroufe, Alex Sroufe, Ashley McNutt and Austin Deaton; his grandparents, Julius, Jill Josupeit-Kunz, Marlene Kunz, Gary and Louise Sroufe; and his uncles, Mark (Fay Greer), Allan (Terri Christensen), Justin (Katherine Kunz-Pauls) and Don (Lisa Manning). He is also survived by several great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral directors are following current Michigan Department of Health and Human Services guidelines for COVID-19, those attending will be instructed accordingly, and masks must be worn. Mass will be private.
