He was predeceased by: his parents, George Vargo and Mary Vargo; his wife June Schneider; his siblings, Rudy, James and Mary; and his siblings-in-law, Veronica and Woody Austin.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Vargo (Joanie) of Petoskey, Robert Vargo of Petoskey, Thomas Vargo of Petoskey and Laurie Clark (Douglas) of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; his sister Nellie Neuwald of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Brandi Langlois (Michael), Adam Vargo (Samantha), Amy Symborski (Eric) and Tami Zimmerman; his great grandchildren, Douglas, Raelyn Smith, Colton, Brayden Vargo, Cailyn and Brielle Zimmerman; his siblings-in-law, MaryJo and John Parker of Petoskey; and his nephew Steven Parker. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
