It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Duane Robert Cooper of Petoskey, Michigan, born in Birch Run, Michigan, who passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cooper and Gertrude Cooper (Sproul); his siblings, Don Cooper, Bob Cooper, Doris Nichols, Vivian Verran and Gladys Fawcett; and his son-in-law Jeff Drier.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Cooper (Witkop); his children, Susan Drier, Michael Cooper (Monica), Steven Cooper (Peggy), Brenda Thompson (Mark) and Mary McCarry (Jim); his grandchildren, Karl Cooper (Sky), Steffi Cooper, Kevin Thompson (Micayla Downey), Tori Thompson (Jeff Hills), Eric Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Bethany McCarry and Paige Gonzalez (Ray); his great grandchildren, Myles Gonzalez, Sam Gonzalez and Cyrus Cooper; and his siblings, Wanda Peters (Clinton) and Beverly Morris (Chris). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
