He is survived by: his parents, Bert Avery and Lela Avery (Van Auken); his children, Larry Avery (Carol) of Anderson and Maxine Carlson (Gary) of Hartford; his grandchild Thirteen; and his siblings, Helen Fuller, George Avery and Wayne Avery. He is also survived by great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or to the donor's choice.
