He was predeceased by: his parents, James Blackburn and Geneva Blackburn (Meade). He is survived by: his former wife Rosemary Bonarski; his children, Amy Lynn and Jeffrey James; his wife Rosie; his children, Amy Blackburn Small and Jeff Blackburn (Michelle); his granddaughters, Amelia Small (Joey DeRosa) and Tori Lieter (Jerome); his brothers, James Blackburn (Carol) and Greg Blackburn (Sue); and his sisters-in-law, Jan Bonarski, Barbara Zach, Jacqui Groenland and Patti Carpenter. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo (Hospice Care of SW Michigan) or Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Prep Golf Program.
