He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Nelson and Thelma Nelson (Harter); his sisters, Joanne Titcombe (Alfred) and Wilma Harter; and his siblings-in-law, George Anderson, Ron Curtis and Jeanne Lenon.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lenon; his children, Michael Nelson (Tracy) and Kristine Nelson; his grandchildren, Erin Nelson (Andrew), Jamie Drew (Matthew), Matthew Nelson and Amber Johnson (Christopher); his great grandchildren, Noah Drew, Isabelle and Avery Johnson; his siblings, Duane Nelson (Debbie) and Margaret Anderson; and his in-laws, Gerry Curtis, Linda Cooley (Jim), Larry Lenon (Mary Ann), Dan Lenon and Jan Settlemyre (Connie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (726 Fuller Ave, Big Rapids, MI 49307).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Don's name may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
