She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Maatta and Ida Maatta (Luukkonen); her siblings, Reino Maatta, Gordon Maatta, Irene Wills and Eva Maatta; and her son-in-law Donny Wuorinen.
She is survived by: her husband Bruce R. Taavola; her children, Derek (Linda Schmidtman) of Marquette, Terry Wuorinen (Jerry Penegor) of Painesdale, Danny (Pam) of South Range and Lyn Sauvola (Eric) of Painesdale; her grandchildren, Jordan Wuorinen (Sue), Melissa Weidert (Greg), Jenna Wuorinen (Dusty), Sarah Taavola (Joe), Danielle Hendrick (Mark), Brandon Taavola, Alyssa Taavola, Noah, Ariana, Adria and Nadia Sauvola; her brothers, Wesley Maatta of Toivola and Melvin Maatta (Gertrude) of Hancock; and also Bruce of Painesdale. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
