He was predeceased by: his parents, Hattie Holmes (Reed) and Verne L. Holmes; his siblings, Art, Dale, Lee, Jim, Floyd, Chuck Holmes and Maxine; his son David; his grandchildren, Russell Carlton and Amy Theile; and his great grandchild Radd Carlton.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie Carlton; his children, Dan Carlton (Tammy), Randy Carlton (Kim Omer), Cindy Spencer, Kim Berthume (Mike) and Scott Carlton; and his pet Woody.
