He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mathewson and Shirley Mathewson (Sheldon); his sister Marianne Mathewson; his aunt Francis Mathewson; and his uncle Donald VanSteenburgh.
He is survived by: his son Chad Mathewson (Mandy); his niece Shelly Ochodnicky (Jeff); his nephew Brian Snyder (Patty); his grandchildren, Chad Jr. Mathewson, Mazy Mathewson and Skie Mathewson; and his caregivers, Ruthann Sanders, Shannon Roth and Samantha Holmes. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
