He was predeceased by: his parents, Derwin Austin and Elsie Austin (Phelps); his wife Joanne; his son Kenneth; and his stepsons, Walter and Wayne Cartwright.
He is survived by: his son Ronald Austin; his stepchildren, Brenda Tyler (Eric Thornton) and Mike Tyler (Terry); his siblings, Janice King and Jeffrey Austin; and his great grandchild Lincoln Thomas Bryant. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice House of Shiawassee County who offered love and compassion in his final days.
