He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Sergent and Clara Sergent (Rau); his daughter Dawn Elizabeth; his grandson Dylan Schlitt; his siblings, Jeanne Hazard, Phylis Earley, Joe Walter and Jim Sergent; his nieces, Karen Smith and Sandy Gehrke; and his friend Tom Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Scott Sergent (Pamela), Allison Sergent, Elizabeth Sergent, Jonathan Sergent (Tamera) and Mary Schlitt (David); his grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa), Max (Daniela), Jack, Keegan, Jesse, Taylor, Connor Sergent (Mylissa), Evan, Ella and Tristan Schlitt; his siblings, Joyce Kohler (Joe) and Gary Sergent (Kathy); and his friend Chuck Hegg.
