He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Chmelar and Marie Chmelar (Hajek); his sister Mildred Chmiko; his sister-in-law Sharon Chmelar; and his nephew Michael Krcmarik.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Lare; his children, Nancy Dice (Earl), Thomas Chmelar (Kelly) and Barbara Kral (David); his grandchildren, Brett Dice (Terri), Brandi Dice (Kristi Ward), Chelsey Saari (Kyle), Brooke Taipale (Michael) and Allison Chmelar; his stepgrandchildren, Nathan Ballantine (Alexia) and Rachel Barker (Drew); his great grandchildren, Sierra, Aaron Dice and Marek Saari; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Milo, Maia Ballantine, Lake, Forest and Sky Barker; and his siblings, Edward Chmelar and Marion Krcmarik. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Maple Grove Township Hall (4017 Peet Rd, Chesaning, MI 48616).
