He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ernest (Doc) and Grace Tilson (Conklin); his wife JoAnn Tilson; and his son Joey Tilson. He is survived by: his children, Denise Lawrence, Terri Ryon, Thomas Tilson and Ernie Tilson (Megan); his grandchildren, Tim Lawrence, Andrew Lawrence, Taylor Gehrcke, Kayla Gehrcke, Bridget Ryon and Brooke Ryon; his great grandchildren, Layla, Jozie, Rayna and Kora; and his sister Margaret "Martie" Skeans.
