She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Ford and Irene Wilda Harpster (VanAlstine); her parents-in-law, Vaun and Irene Gruesbeck; and her siblings, Russell Harpster and Martha Watson.

She is survived by: her former husband Marcus VanAtta; her husband Dennis "Red" Gruesbeck; her children, Kevin VanAtta (Chantal), Mindy Ostrander (Dave), Todd Gruesbeck (Patricia), Mark VanAtta (Margie), Chad Gruesbeck (Stephanie), Brad Gruesbeck (Leslie), Brandon Gruesbeck, Bryan Gruesbeck and Alice Gruesbeck; her siblings, Alma Farrison and Lyle Harpster; and her siblings-in-law, Larry Gruesbeck (Kathy) and Ardith Mulder (Rick). She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
