He was predeceased by: his parents, William Seelhoff and Clara Seelhoff (Wellmer); his son Richard Seelhoff; and his siblings, Arlene Simpson (Dewey), Doris Atkinson (Clarence), Bernice Sutliff (Lee), Lorrayne Shuster (Harlan) and Norman Seelhoff (Berma).

He is survived by: his wife Hazel Seelhoff of Ovid; his sons, Donald Seelhoff Jr. (Wendy) of Hopkins and Thomas Seelhoff (Karen) of Owosso; his stepdaughters, Vickie Csapos (Dan) of Zephyrhills, FL and Tracy Cole (Kerry) of Laingsburg; his grandchildren, Lindsay Pumfery (Aaron), Ryan Seelhoff (Samantha), Donald Seelhoff III (Casandra) and Daniel Seelhoff (Krista); his stepgrandchildren, Derek Csapos, Erin Cuthbert (Derek) and Dayna Bancroft (Ryan); and his sister Shirley Long (Gaylord). He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
