He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Spiess and Flora Spiess (Root); his granddaughter Emerson Spiess; his parents-in-law, Charles Kendall and Dorothy Kendall; and his brother-in-law Wayne Hunt.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Sue Spiess; his sons, Jason Spiess (April), Kyle Spiess (Marie), Tim Spiess (Sara) and Kevin Spiess (Stacey); his grandchildren, William, Jacob, Nicholas, Grace, Mason, Max, Kaia, Miley, Jack, Ella and Peyton; and his siblings, Carol Hunt and Jerry Spiess (Mary).
