He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross C. Chappell and Mamie L. Chappell (Rogers); his siblings, Marge Fitzgerald, Alice Bradford, Charlette Hickerson and James Chappell; and his sister-in-law Dolores Damschroder.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley J. Chappell (Damschroder); his children, Wanda Marie Crawford, Helen Lutricia Perry, Rosa Diane Bayer (Bill) and William Michael Chappell; his grandchildren, Rio, Heather, Michael, William, Matthew, Connor, Destiny and Ross; his sisters, Sarah Golatka and Betty Jo Reeves; and his brother-in-law Martin Hickerson. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
