He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Murray and Josephine Murray (Coleman); and his brother Stanley Murray. He is survived by: his girlfriend Marilyn McKune; and his children, Andrew Murray and Allison Watters (Kevin).

Memorials may be made to the Robert Glasgow Scholarship in Organ Fund at the University of Michigan or the Vincent L. Barker Scholarship Fund at the University of Toledo.
