He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter H. and Gertrude (Lauer); and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Benedict; his children, Linda Sleeman (Scott) of Otsego, MI, Tom Boettcher (Debbie) of Destin, FL and Jill Barclay (Kevin) of Jackson, MI; his grandchildren, Ben (Nicole), Alex (Kaylee), Molly (Sam), Stephanie (Jesse), Mitchell, Corey (Morgan), Samantha, Erin (TJ), Abigail (Jason), Cole (Elizabeth), Travis and Bryan; and his brother Dick Boettcher (Pat). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
