He was predeceased by: his son Brian Bennett; his parents, John William Bennett and Louella Stewart; and his stepfather Harold Stewart. He is survived by: his wife Susan Bennett; his children, Rita Robertson (Jim), Michael Bennett (Jill), Chris Olsen (Amanda) and Cory Olsen (Cherie); his siblings, Robert Bennett (Carol), James Stewart (Faith) and Rosemary Dyer (Todd); his grandchildren, Korbin, Collyn (Maggie), Gavin Bennett, Sawyer, Trent Olsen, Emmelia, Jacob and Gabriella Olsen; his great grandchildren, Mateo Olsen and Banks Bennett; and his former wife Mary Barbee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
