She was predeceased by: her parents, George Kurtz and Josephine Kurtz (Harper); her spouse Merle Holmes; her son Garry; and her siblings, Gilbert Kurtz, Charles Kurtz (Glenna) and Mable Holmes (Earl).

She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Wearne (Charles) of Allegan, Scott Holmes (Valerie) of Allegan and Lorna VanLent (Michael) of Otsego; and her close friend Roger Norman. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Contributions in memory of Luella may be made to Medical Team Hospice or Trowbridge Community Church.
