It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty J. Mahieu in Otsego, Michigan, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Jones and Bessie Jones (Morrison); her husband James Mahieu; her daughter Kathleen Myers; her son-in-law Richard Downing; and her siblings, Harold, Edith and Ruth.
She is survived by: her children, Sharalyn Downing of Otsego and David Mahieu (Darlene) of Kalamazoo. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trowbridge Community Church (355 26th St, Otsego, MI 49078). A memorial service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pastor David Youngs and Pastor Mykel Hall.
