He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hamilton and Ethel Hamilton (Lemunyon); his wife Virginia "Ginger" Poe; his son James Hamilton; his stepfather Jim "Pop" Haught; and his siblings, Gayle Stafford, John "Rusty" Hamilton and Harry Hamilton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vickie Demmitt (Nevin) of Ohio and Tina Hamilton of Ohio; his granddaughters, Emily Attard (Michael) of Florida and Hannah Parisey (Kyle Robinson) of Ohio; and his sister Hazel Lichtenstiger of Indiana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County.
