He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Gear; his sister Betty Wirick; and his brother-in-law Wayne Wirick. He is survived by: his daughters, Shonna Holland (Brent) of Archbold, Wanda Beard (Patrick) of Angola, Joyce Layton (Thomas) of Pettisville and Roberta Gear Smith (Kelly) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Jill Conrad (Brook), Lindsey Lange (Nathaniel), Michael Beard (Katlyn), Erin Planson (Wade), Genny Rupp, Jessie Rupp, Tyler Layton, Joshua Smith and Sara Smith; his nephew Lynn Wirick (Dorothy) of Mesa; and also, Duane and Pam Waters.
Memorial contributions may be given to Lakeview United Brethren Church in Camden, Michigan.
