He is survived by: his wife Barbara Spencer (Hiebbner); his children, Richard Spencer, Jr. (Pamela), Michael Spencer (Nancy) and Thonila "Toni" Knott (Tim); and his siblings, Marge Dennis, Betty Bryan, Susan Cronk and Roger Spencer. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
