In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Eugene had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Eugene may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver LaVack and Winifred LaVack (Whittemore); and his wives, Ellen Erickson and Sue Pettengill. He is survived by: his close friend Doris Rose; his children, Mark LaVack (Ena) of Oscoda, MI, Matthew LaVack (Colleen) of Traverse City, MI, Jonathon LaVack and Krista McIntosh of Petoskey, MI; and his grandchildren, Joshua LaVack, Tammy Weaver and Stacey LaFave. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
