Obituary Notice Christopher J. Kauffman, age 34, of Oscoda, MI formerly of Hale, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City.
He was born on January 19, 1985 in Detroit to James Kauffman & Diane Rochowiak. He joined the U. S. Army and attained the rank of Sgt. serving from 2003-2009 including two tours in Iraq. He was awarded a Purple Heart. Chris liked to hunt, fish and ride motorcycles. Chris is survived by his father, James & step-mother, Debra Kauffman of South Branch; brother, Justin Kauffman of South Branch; sisters, Rylee Hopper, Katilyn Hopper, Melissa Novak; fiancé, Jessica Moss and her children, Ricki, Evelyn, Alli, Sebastian, and Scarlett; grandmother, Jeanne Washburn; many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Hopper; grandparents, Harry and Margaret Kauffman. Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Buresh Funeral Home, 121 S. Washington, Hale, MI 48739. Services will be held at 1 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Rod Alexander, Sr. officiating.
