He was predeceased by: his former wife Ruth. He is survived by: his wife Colleen K. Phinney of Oscoda; and his children, Allen Phinney (Dorothy) of Vista and Linda Gamliel (Gerry) of Kansas City. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a local Humane Society are suggested.
